Techniques or Format

Handmade bandolier, Pocket made of black velveteen folded in half, lined with natural white cotton cloth, Panel made of loom woven beadwork, Strap made of black velveteen lined with white cotton, applied beadwork and two loom woven bead panels stitched to strap, Entire bandolier edged with dark green bias tape which forms tabs at bottom corners, Purple bias tape used on inner strap edge and pocket opening, Beading and sewing done with commercial thread, Designs on pocket panel worked on a background of white beads within a dark blue border (0.4 cm) from edge, Beads woven into geometric configurations illustrating triangular, diamond, cross, X and stepped elements, Design is symmetrical, Dark green bias tape sewn to velveteen above beadwork, Border around three sides of panel - white applied beadwork - double rows of zigzag lines form diamond designs, Eight beaded tabs at bottom of panel form fringe, Four different geometric designs repeated from outside toward centre colour varies on white background, Each tab finished with four strings of translucent tubular beads knotted into pairs of red, dark blue and black yarn tassels, Two middle tabs have extra tassels, Bottom section of strap embroidered in applied beadwork using overlay stitch, symmetrical stylized floral design, Two separate loom woven beaded panels not joined at top of strap, both have identical geometric patterns enclosed within a dark green border, 4 cm away from edge, colours differ on a white background, top of each panel has five multi-coloured hexagonal shapes, panels end with four tabs, Tabs finished similarly to pocket panel with tubular beads and wool tassels, some tassels are missing.
