Motifs and Patterns

The flat, roughly rectangular bag has designs on recto and verso that are variations on a simple theme: contrasting areas of narrow lines placed horizontally and vertically, framed at the sides by vertical red and green stripes against a tan background. Design on recto features alternating horizontal rows of narrow horizontal and vertical stripes. Design on verso features two rectangles of narrow vertical stripes. The vertical stripes have a zigzag appearance.

Additional Context

CW identifies the rectangle on verso as an offering dish for an underwater panther, representing the underworld, with the recto side representing the upper world.
