Twined bag woven of woolen yarns on blue wool ground with diamond patterns and three bands. Collected from Leech Lake, Minnesota, Ojibwa.

Wool yarn; black cotton cloth border; cotton thread; blue yarn warp; weft is green, beige, dark brown, red, blue

Techniques or Format

Upper edge bound with black cotton. Lower edge sewn closed. Same patterns on both faces, above and below spotted lozenge band in brown and buff.

Motifs and Patterns

In centre, geometric arrangements of triangles and lozenges forming repeating figure in blue and buff. Diamond shaped patterns, all over design, in three bands. The bands are separated by guards.
