The Information of John Watkins a deserter from the Army of the United States
This is a report based on the testimony of one John Watkins, a deserter of the 2nd United States regiment. It provides the size and location of the army he deserted, the activities with which the army was occupied and that a severe scarcity of provisions had struck the army, the cause of which resulted in Watkins desertion. It is also noted that "there are no Southern Indians with the Army but 9 Chickasaws, and that the army had planned to "winter in the neighbourhood of Detroit."
