The textual body is confusing for contemporary readers as it presumes familiarity with the situation at Sandusky at the date above. In sum, the Chief exresses grave concern that his brothers, the Six Nations have arrived and "are in a manner starving" for lack of provisions. There seems to be another issue about the Chief's non-attendance, the explanation for which has to do with the other Chiefs not being able to speak with the Six Nations. The reasons that would explain this, if it were indeed the situation, are not provided.
