Description of Land Sold:
The Chippewas of Lake Huron and Lake Simcoe surrendered unto Her Majesty Queen Victoria an island known as Christian Island in the Georgian Bay of Lake Huron. The land is to be surrendered for the purpose of erecting a lighthouse. The Governor General will reserve ten acres adjacent to the lighthouse. This land will be sold for the benefit of the Indians.
