Introduction

Model canoe made of birchbark, porcupine quills, wood splint, and thread. A single piece of birchbark is bent and and sewn on the sides, and the wood splint held along the top edge with thread. Features rhombus motifs. Collected by Samson C. J. U. Philippine, this item is now housed at the Weltmuseum Wien in Vienna, Austria.
