wood, yellow cloth with beige edging, commercial paint, metal screws, twisted cotton cord
The cradleboard is made of carved wood. The top of the backboard is scalloped, and metal screws attach the carved footboard to the tapered end. Holes are made along the sides of the backboard where twisted cotton cord is laced through to secure the wrappings. The carved crossbar is attached to the backboard with metal screws. At each end of the crossbar is a hole that corresponds to the carved ends of the curved hoop. The ends of the hoop are supported at the sides with hide thong brackets which are laced through holes in the backboard and tied. The hoop, crossbar, footboard, and the back of the backboard are elaborately carved and painted. The wrapper is made of a strip of yellow cloth with beige edging.
Interlace carving on hoop. Carvings on the back: a bear, possible celestial tree design(?), berries, flowers, leaves, a bird, flowerpot with flowers and berries at the top.
The footboard has squared ends, but a rounded or domed(?) bottom. Interlace carving on hoop with holes possibly for hanging ornaments, toys etc.
