Each mat is fabricated of two pieces of birchbark, one on front which is embroidered with moose hair, and one on the back that is undecorated.
One mat is decorated with floral motifs; the other mat features a scene of a fox with a bird.
Inscription on verso floral motif mat: "PN/E". Other mat has a fox with bird motif, no inscription on reverse. One small hole is found in each corner of both mats.
