Tanned, black-dyed deer hide, decorated with porcupine quillwork in zigzag band and simple line techniques. Pocket back is slightly longer than front, and there is a scalloped-edged cuff at top of pocket front. Fringes of quill-wrapped thongs, metal cones and orange-dyed hair attached at base of cuff and pouch. Carrying strap consists of 12 strands of Indian hemp, quill-wrapped in pairs and joined transversely at regular intervals.
Design on face of pouch is thunderbird.
AC: 7 "humps" in irregular wavy lines down one side, 8 on the one down the other side. Neck is visible but no head; AC: maybe because too much power, can't look in their eyes, especially when lightning is shown emanating. RP: as if artist evoking shimmering presence. Amazing strap. AC: scallops like clouds, jingles could sound like rain, the bird has talons as if ready to attack the being under the water.
