This relative, a burden strap, is composed of moosehair and nettlestalk fibre (hemp), and is decorated with small white glass beads. Although the origins of this relative are not certain, it has probable connections to the Huron-Wendat or Haudenosaunee/Hodenosaunee.
This relative currently resides in the National Museum of Ireland.

Provenance
came to the museum as a gift in 1927 together with a Plains shirt, pair of subarctic moccasins, and a headdress made of an African belt set with cowrie shells. The ensemble was identified to the museum as a "medicine man's outfit"

Note from Dana Murray during augmentation: Date of acquisition is listed as 1937, and year of donation to the museum is listed as 1927. It is possible that one of these dates is an error and that donation and acquisition occurred in the same year.
