Techniques or Format

Box made of one piece of birchbark cut in six places and sewn up the sides with spruce root. Rim made of wrapped spruce root, natural and dyed red, white, green and possibly purple. Lid made of birch bark and sewn with spruce root. The edge of the birchbark piece that forms the top of the lid is cut into triangular shapes and sewn around the sides of the lid. Porcupine quills, natural and dyed red, purple, and green ornament box and lid.

Motifs and Patterns

The same floral motif is repeated on the sides of the box. Lid is ornamented with floral or possibly sun or starburst motif. Triangular pieces of birchbark ornament the sides of the lid.
