wampum belt with 4 diagonal bands, collected by Arthur Speyer, formerly in the collection of Sir John Caldwell, Anishinaabe (Ojibwa), 1700 - 1783.
Anishinaabeg:
Catalog card notes "He (Caldwell) spent a winter at Fort Detroit. He was made a chief of the Ojibwa and given the name "Apatto" The Runner." This item could therefore be of Anishinaabe (Ojibwa) origin.
