1 warp strands of tanned hide thongs, wampum shell beads, weft commercial thread
large hexagons (11) alternating with diamonds (9) with an interesting checkerboard motif at each end (6 of each) appears to be balanced in terms of number of white and purple beads. RP: "odd" in terms of design field - crowded. If you look at it as if the design motif is white, the motifs are in fact hourglass motifs, which could therefore be Anishinaabe. Possibly.
18th C attribution by Ted Brasser.
Provenance
Came via collection of the Earl of Warwick, Warwick Castle. Who was the Earl of Warwick? What wars/conflicts were these guys involved in? JHall says no Earl of Warwick in NA during this period. So find the younger son.
