Hide, quills, dye (red, black, ochre), yarn.
Fringed hide bags have two panels of quillwork in geometrical design.
On-site researchers: did not examine these bags closely. Cree and Dene made pouches with two parallel rows of loom woven quillwork appliqued to hide panels with lower edges cut into fringes rubbed with ochre; Cory: the yarn used for fringing on these pouches looks as if it were either from an unwoven blanket, or made by untwisting the fibres in double twist yarn. Used in lieu of moose hair,to create a thinner, finer hair-like yarn.
