Part of a collection of 50 specimens of beadwork; 11 specimens of quill work, 4 catlinite pipes, 12 coloured pictures, 1 pencil sketch, 7 specimens of rawhide material and 24 miscellaneous specimens.
This item was collected by Mr. Myron Roys Curtiss, United States agent for the Shoshone and Arapaho people, while located in Ft. Washakie, Wyoming between 1876 and 1886. Loaned to the FLMNH by Mrs. Erhart G. Peterson, granddaughter of the collector.
Accession card (attached to GRASAC record) contains notes on the family interaction with the museum/collection after the loan was made, and biographical information on M.R. Curtiss and Myron Eaton Curtis, son of M.R. and father of the donor.
