A pair of snowshoes with slightly squared and raised toes. The museum description for them says they are "Native North American, E Woodlands. From Canada." Bequeathed to the Glasgow Museums Resource Centre by the late William Turner, Baranflow, Helensburgh.

Techniques or Format

The snowshoes have slightly squared and slightly raised toes. To make the frame, pieces of wood were steamed and then bent. The webbing is babiche. Tufts of red and blue woolen yarn are attached to the snowshoes.
