Flat "puzzle style" pipe stem (box elder ?); one edge of the pipe stem was cut away and replaced to form the smoke channel.
Motifs and Patterns
Eight pierced designs: two birds, two circles, two amorphous figures, one cross, and one design of three parallel rectangles. Each design is surrounded by an engraved outline with traces of pigment - one side of the pipe stem red, the other side blue.
