Techniques or Format

Panel of black wool backed by beige cotton. Each band is partially separated by incomplete single strands of zigzag or wavy beading. Bordered by silk ribbon edging tapes, with beaded edging at the outermost edge. Both fabrics plain weave, balanced.

Motifs and Patterns

Decorated with stylized leaf and flower motifs of pink, turquoise, yellow and white beads.

Condition: Loss of body of embroidery and of beaded edging. Insect damage to wool (not active). One end left unfinished.

Record Creation Notes/Observations

Item was photographed by Kelly Konieczki while on exhibit at the DIA. The images were meant to be temporary, in order to create a GKS record prior to the GRASAC team's visit, therefore detailed images are not yet available. During the visit, discussion of this item was captured exclusively on video by Crystal Migwans during a walk-through of the galleries; members did not have access to internet/GKS at the time to enter information.
