Techniques or Format

Panel of black wool backed by beige cotton. Each band is partially separated by incomplete single strands of zigzag or wavy beading. Bordered by silk ribbon edging tapes, with beaded edging at the outermost edge. Both fabrics plain weave, balanced.

Motifs and Patterns

Decorated with stylized leaf and flower motifs of pink, turquoise, yellow and white beads.

Condition: Loss of body of embroidery and of beaded edging. Insect damage to wool (not active). One end left unfinished.

Item was photographed by Kelly Konieczki while on exhibit at the DIA.
