Techniques or Format

The outside of the canoe is made with brown velvet edged with a blue cotton fabric. The inside is lined with a red cotton. Beadwork decorates both sides of the canoe: one side is decorated with a single floral design with two leaves, and the other side has the message "Remember Me 1917" with a flower on one side and a yellow bird on the other. Two beaded tassels hang from either side of the bottom of the canoe. A twisted double strand of beads connects both sides of the canoe at the top, creating a small handle or means of hanging it. The canoe is likely lined with cardboard or paper to give it a stronger shape.

Motifs and Patterns

Floral and bird.

Condition: Fair to poor. Some strands of beads are broken.
