The Chiefs and Warriors of the Mohawk Nation of Indians of the Bay of Quinte, surrender to Her Majesty a tract of land in the Township of Tyendenaga. Her Majesty's Government are set to dispose of the land for the assistance and benefit of the Mohawk Indians.

Description of Writing/Text

The Chiefs of the Mohawk nation of Indians of the Bay of Quinte have surrendered unto Her Majesty, all that parcel or tract of land in the Township of Tyendenaga, which may be described as the tract lying within the following limits: commencing at the south-west angle of the north half (or 80 acre lot) of number twenty-eight in the fourth concession, north of the road in the said Township of Tyendinaga; thence easterly along the centre line in the said fourth concession to the boundary of the township; thence northerly along the said boundary line to the rear of the said township; thence westerly along the boundary line between Hungerford and Tyendenaga to the north-west corner of lot number twenty-eight in the tenth concession; thence southerly along the side lines, between numbers twenty-seven and twenty-eight, through the several concessions: 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, and the north half of the fourth, to the place of beginning; in trust, with the understanding that the said parcel of land is to be disposed of to the best advantage, and the proceeds to be invested for the benefit of our tribe.
