Description of Land Surrendered:

Whereas the contemplated treaty between the Crown and the said Nawash Indians for the surrender of the Nawash Reserve has was previously made and executed, it is deemed desirable that the Caughnawaga families residing on the Caughnawaga tract on the north shore of Owen Sound should surrender and yield up to the Crown the lands which they occupy, and remove to Cape Crocker with the Nawash Band. It is therefore agreed upon by all the contracting parties that the said Caughnawaga families consisting of fifteen persons shall yield up the said three lots; thirteen, seventeen, and eighteen to the Crown, for the purpose of being sold in common with other surrendered land, for the benefit of the Chippewa Indians of Nawash, and will remove therefrom when required by the Gov. General to do so, and the members of Nawash do hereby admit the said Caughnawaga Indians to a full share and participation in all revenues and privileges enjoyed by the said Nawash Band.

It was further agreed that the said heads of the said Caughnawaga families would be entitled to receive out of the first payment by the purchasers of said land the appraised value of their respective buildings and other improvements, also the further sum of ten pounds per head to each member of their respective families. Also on removing to Cape Crocker they were to be located on 25 acre lots in like manner as is agreed upon by the treaty.
